Blake Jorgensen, CFO at Electronic Arts, announced today during a conference call related to earnings for EA, that they are hoping to sell at least 9 to 10 million copies of Battlefront later on this year.
We’ve put in there roughly nine to 10 million units for the title, which we believe is the upside if things go well,” said Jorgensen. “It is Gen-4 only and PC, so that needs to be factored into people’s thinking.
Blake also went on to say that he was very optimistic about the new Star Wars: Battlefront game, and there will be plenty of excitement leading up to launch that should help to carry sales.
We certainly hope we can leverage a lot of the hype,” Jorgensen said. “We’re thinking about [Battlefront’s sales projections] as two bookends. One bookend is the historical Battlefront, which did roughly 9 million units. The other bookend is our first-person shooter franchise, Battlefield, which typically does around 15 million units.
