Well it looks like fans are getting what they wanted, they are getting a Star Wars Battlefront beta test coming in early October. This beta test will not only give players the chance to help fine tune the game that will be released on November 17th, but they will have access to some new game modes and features.
Coming early October to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on Origin for PC, the Star Wars Battlefront Beta* is a technical test and will feature Walker Assault on Hoth, a 40-player multiplayer battle featuring Rebels and the Empire. Walker Assault will also give you the chance to play as two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars™ universe: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. The Beta will also feature our Survival Mission on Tatooine, where you and a Rebel friend must fight back waves of Imperial forces.
In addition to the chance to play the beta and have a blast playing Battlefront, they will also be privy to a new game mode called Drop Zone. This new game mode, Drop Zone, is still a mystery but EA mentioned they would release more info on it in the days coming.
Finally, there is a new thing called Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience. This new option allows you to unlock Star Cards, check stats, progression in the game, and even customize loadouts. This sounds like the system that will be taking over, or is simply new, to the system known to Battlefield 4 players as Battlelog.
As part of the Star Wars Battlefront Beta we are also happy to reveal the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience. Available during the Beta at www.StarWarsBattlefront.com, the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience features the strategic card game Base Command, and lets you earn in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons, and more in Star Wars Battlefront. In addition to Base Command, the Companion also lets Rebels and Imperials alike check game stats and progression, customize load-outs and appearance, connect with friends, and get notified when they’re playing Star Wars Battlefront – as well as gather intel on their stats and progression so you can see how you match up!
Star Wars Battlefront is only a few months away, and we have a really cool beta release just around the corner. We really don’t have that much longer until we have one of the biggest game releases ever in our hands. Hold on tight, this should be one heck of a ride.
