E3 is slowly approaching, and we are only about a week away from what will be one huge event for Star Wars Battlefront. While there will be many other games, and entertainment, there at the Los Angeles Convention Center, I believe the big news will be about and revolve around Battlefront and the upcoming release.
Star Wars is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, franchises ever in modern day entertainment. Just simply due to the nature of the franchise, it demands attention, and it has a fan following that wraps the world.
Here are a few things that I think we might, or could expect at E3 regarding Star Wars Battlefront.
Battlefront E3 Possibilities
- Han Solo – Confirmed Playable Character
- Luke Skywalker – Confirmed / Hinted Playable Character
- Multiplayer – New Video Showing Gameplay
- Multiplayer Maps – New Images / Videos Showing Maps
- Multiplayer Weapons – New Information
- Multiplayer Game Modes – New Information
Matthew Everett, Community Manager, mentioned recently on Reddit that we should be ready for the new stuff coming our way.
I think you are going to enjoy the next wave of content and information.
The biggest thing I think will be the new multiplayer teaser video, which should show a lot of what I think is coming. There has been many hints on social media, and news, in regards to what we can, and should expect. While it is nearly impossible to say what information we will walk away with, there are certain things that seem like a lock. First of all, hoow can you post a picture of the DL-44 blaster, and not have Han Solo be a playable character? It seems impossible doesn’t it?
The also stated more is to come in regards to Hoth, or maybe this means there is more to come in regards to maps in general? I think it actually means both. I think we will see more information about Hoth, but we will also see some new maps.

Is Luke Skywalker coming? Maybe he is being announced, maybe he isn’t…but what do you think? This recent post to their Twitter account really makes you think about it, or maybe it’s just me.

There will of course be the new “Fighter Squadron” mode that will be shown, or showcased, to the sea of onlookers at E3. This mode, or gameplay style, will let you see how dog fights or air battles will be done in Battlefront.
For example, we have created new game modes and made new maps to cater to their specific experience. You could see a tiny snippet of this in our trailer where you saw the Fighter Squadron mode, where you engage in huge Starfighter battles over canyons big enough to be truly epic. Then, for those not in the mood for large scale battles, we have created Missions where players can, for example, take on armies of AI or test their piloting skills. All our Missions can be played either alone or cooperatively, making them perfect for some quick Star Wars action when you have a friend over. What we want to make sure is that each Star Wars fan can have something really awesome to look forward to, be that epic online battles or an instant skirmish alone or with a friend. I really look forward to showing you all more from the game as we get closer to release, and for you guys who are asking me when you can see gameplay, I can tell you that we have great plans for E3.
So with just about a week to go to E3, we have lots to look forward to. We have new gameplay video, new characters, possible weapons, maps, and anything else that EA might have up their sleeve. While we do not know for certain what is coming, I can assure you that whatever it is, will be huge!
